Grading & Slabs

Professional grading authenticates a card's condition and seals it in a tamper-evident case, increasing its collectibility, liquidity, and long-term value. We submit to PSA on your behalf, in partnership with KD Collectibles - Canada's largest PSA authorized dealer.

Is Your Card Worth Grading?

At $119.99 per card, grading only pays off on cards where a high grade meaningfully changes the value. As a rough guide, a card is worth submitting when:

  • The raw copy is worth roughly $150 or more, and
  • It looks clean under a light — sharp corners, no surface scratches or print lines, and centering that's close to even front and back.

PSA grades on four things: surface, corners, edges, and centering. A card that looks perfect at arm's length often isn't. If you're unsure, bring it by and we'll give you an honest read before you commit to the fee.

How It Works

01

Select and prepare your cards

Choose the cards you want graded and sleeve them yourself before drop-off. Each card needs a penny sleeve (not a perfect fit) inside a semi-rigid card holder. We can provide holders if you don't have them. Stack the cards in the exact order you want them listed on your submission.

02

Submit your list

Fill out the submission form below, listing your cards one per line in the same order as your stack. You'll be asked to confirm the submission terms.

03

Arrange your drop off

Once we've received your list, we'll contact you to arrange a time and place to meet in person and hand off your cards. Drop-offs are scheduled individually — we work around your schedule and meet somewhere convenient for both of us. We'll confirm the details with you directly before anything is finalized.

04

We package and submit

We handle all packaging, documentation, and shipping to PSA through KD Collectibles.

05

We track and notify

We monitor your submission and contact you as soon as grades come back. Expect long gaps between updates — that's normal, and it doesn't mean anything is wrong.

06

Settle up and collect

When your submission returns, we'll send your invoice. Payment must be received before cards are released. Collect your slabs in person or have them shipped. If you'd rather sell, we're happy to make an offer on the spot.

What is a Graded Card?

A "slab" is a card that has been submitted to a professional grading company, authenticated, assigned a numerical grade based on its condition, and encased in a sealed, rigid plastic holder. The grade is permanent and displayed on a label visible through the case.

Graded cards trade at a premium over raw (ungraded) copies, particularly at PSA 9 and PSA 10, the grades that command the strongest market interest.

Other Grading Companies

PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) is the industry standard for Pokémon cards and where the deepest market exists. We also buy and sell cards graded by BGS (Beckett) and CGC. Both are respected in the hobby, though PSA grades tend to carry the strongest resale premiums for most cards.

If you have slabs from other companies, we're happy to assess them and make an offer.
